Excitement For Spring Training

Spring Training is coming up, you readers must be feeling impatient. Why? Because Spring Training gives the sense that a new season is approaching, the feeling that this may be the year, the year of winning the World Series! After Spring Training, the new season starts!

Most teams feel this way, however, like the Philadelphia Phillies, you feel unsure about that topic. the Phillies didn't do much this off-season, after a horrible season. they just signed minor league contracts all, I mean what's the point in that? if the worst national league team last season didn't make major off-season moves, then that team will continue going downward.

Another team that feels unsure is the Tampa Bay Rays. This Rays team is not the same team as in the 2010-2013 seasons. The original manager, Joe Madden, has moved onto the Chicago Cubs. The Rays also hired a new general manager. This new GM didn't manage well this off-season, trading their best players, for example, Ben Zobrist, for underrated players, John Jaso. The only big off-season move, in my opinion, was signing Asdrubal Cabrera to a one year 7.5 million dollar contract. Asdrubal Cabrera isn't a big name in Baseball, having a .240 batting average overall in 2014 with the Cleveland Indians and the Washington Nationals. Signing him to a one year contract for millions of dollars, is just wasting money. Cross your fingers Rays, because you need to be lucky in 2015 if you want to get to the postseason.

Favorite moment in 2014

So much has happened in the 2014 season, postseason, and offseason. My favorite moment though, was when the Seattle Mariners' last game of the regular season ended in a good note with a win.

Fans were waving towels like it was a postseason victory, but it it wasn't real. Felix Hernandez pitched a excellent game, Mariner fans cheering echoed throughout the stadium for Felix. The one game back in the wild card proved that the Seattle Mariners are moving forward to reach a postseason victory.

Anyway, what was your favorite moment this season in 2014?

Guess that Player: December 20

This player had 596 stolen bases in his career, ranking 19th in the stolen bases career category right now. His last game of his career was on July 17, 1902. Who is this player?

Comment your answer. The prize for the winner of this question will give me a topic for my next post. So say what you want me to talk about in my next post in your comment as well. I will name the winner on December 21, 2014 at 7:00 PM in western time in the United States. I don't know how to comment on my posts yet, but I will figure it out! Anyway, the person who answers the question correct first will be the winner. See ya:)

List of Huge Deals with the Atlanta Braves

1.Nick Markakis
Signs 4-year deal for 44 million dollars
This 2-time Gold Glover is very good defensively, having 3 out of 9 seasons finishing with a 1.000 fielding percentage. He has played 9 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles in the Major Leagues, and also been drafted by Baltimore in 2003. His Batting Average in 2014 was .276. His best Batting Average was in 2008 with .301, since then, it has slowly decreased, .293 in 2009, and .284 in 2011. Expect good defense, don't expect offense.

2.Jim Johnson
Signs 1-year deal for 1.6 million dollars
Johnson hasn't been himself lately since traded to Oakland last year. When he was in Baltimore in 2012-2013, Jim had 50 or more saves both years. However, he only got 2 saves in 2014 with Oakland. I can't remember if he had a injury of not, because he had 3 save opportunities with the Athletics that year. Jim was released by the Athletics on August 1, 2014 and signed with the Detroit Tigers 5 days later. On December 3 2014, Johnson signed with the Atlanta Braves. Maybe he needs to be on the East coast instead of the West coast for a 50 save season.

Trade Talk: Adam Lind for Marco Estrada

Even though this is not an exciting topic, the Toronto Blue Jays has traded Adam Lind to the Milwaukee Brewers for Marco Estrada. Both teams received good quality players, Toronto needs a good Starter for the Rotation, and Milwaukee needs a better First Baseman.

Starting with Estrada, the Blue Jays had some trouble with the Rotation, Drew Hutchison and R.A. Dickey. Hutchison had the worst ERA in the Rotation, which was 4.48. He also had the worst record in the Rotation, 11-13. With R.A., he gave up 26 home runs and 101 runs in the season, both statistics are the highest in the Rotation. However, Marco Estrada will become a Free Agent in 2016. Meaning, he only got one season in Toronto in 2015.

Now with Lind, Milwaukee's Mark Reynolds was a home run or nothing player in 2014. Mark had a .196 batting average, with 74 hits out of 378 at bats. Reynolds hit 22 home runs within those 74 hits. Although, Lind led the highest batting average in the Blue Jays Lineup with .321, even though he had 6 home runs. Adam will become a Free Agent in 2017.

To end this Article, Please respond back with a comment what you think or answer one these question.

1.)Since both teams was close to going to the postseason last year, which team will have more wins than the other? Blue Jays or Brewers?

2.) Which player will be more successful next season than the other? Marco Estrada or Adam Lind?
